Then there is a moment

A lone traveler on the dunes of time
Bogged down by bonds and layers
Enacting my part better called mime
Racing for the end unaware of players
Then there is a moment where i stop and ponder
What am I and what is my purpose here

Mirages and images of true self and others
There is no way to find how your reflection falls
Is my character well sculpted, should I even bother?
Is it white or black or do you have an image at all?
Then there is a moment where you stand and stare
A look at the mirrors and you stop to care

Still you are pushed, pulled and trodden by the crowd
For you have to clean and rub until the mirror shines
So you wipe, strive with it unaware of the sun and clouds
You slog, you curse, you cry, fill the world with your whines
Then there is a moment, when you crack up under pressure
A glance at the reflection, it is not an iota fresher

You world stands still, and the race does not matter
For you realize, it is a mirage, the race is in the mirror
The reflections don’t matter, the former one or latter
For it is who you are, smile at the mirror with fervor
Then there is moment, when it dawns upon you, it is all too late
Taking the last step in the journey, we all curse fate

Choices

Fed up of troubles and fed up of pains

I appealed to The Lord, human life is so lame

I want to be reborn and have a pretty life

Make me something where I don’t have strife

A smile played on his lips, you could call it mischievous

Of course dear, choice is yours, just be cautious

I was delirious, facing so many options

Oh, how to choose, how to avoid the wantons

I wanted to be beautiful, to be colorful and soft

Make me a flower; nothing can go wrong I scoffed

Very well he said, you shall be a flower

But your figure and color is not in my power

You could be the red rose in a lover’s hand

Or a carnivorous one in a forbidden land

Stumped by reality, I rechecked my choices

Make me a tree, strong and harmless

Very well he said, you shall be a tree

But your type and trunk, I cannot guarantee

You could be a tree laden with fruits and climbers

Or a dry one, your trunk used only for death pyres

I thought and thought, silly ideas away I cast

Make me a water body, flowing and vast

Very well he said, you shall be water

But your place and taste, I cannot alter

You could be a river quenching everyone’s thirst

Or could be a part of quick sand, none would trust

I understood then, the meaning of his words

Humbled I was, before the all-knowing Lord

I know what I want to be, let me be human

This time I will try to be more humane

I don’t care about the color, type or place

At least I can mould my future at my own pace

Spider's Web

She spun a web around her

Thick and strong to support forever

Little did she know that she is curbing her freedom

It is now too late to realize, a vain of the wisdom!!

She gave her everything to the web

Unaware of the liberty beginning to ebb

She toiled day and night to reach the expectations

It had to be prim and proper up to the fractions

She was cheered and praised

Everybody was just dazed

For the pattern was so inviting and intricate

None had the imagination nor could imitate

She enjoyed the attention

It was well deserved appreciation

She tried to step out of the web, tried to wean away

But it enveloped her back, there started her doomsday

The more she fought

The more she was caught

She tried her best, moved her limbs in frenzy

It was in vain, for it only drained out the energy

The others just stood around

Watching her get drowned

Neither stretched a limb nor threw a leaf

It then hit her, that their respect was brief

Struggling till the last minute

Wondering why she spun it

It was for the others, she realized at last breath

The others were unfazed, just stared as she hugged her death

CREEPER

The oak was tall and strong,
With green leaves and branches so long…
He had grown in a beautiful garden,
With few other oaks and a handsome warden…

As time flowed and the future rolled…
A cute little sapling entered the garden…
The oak took care and nurtured the sapling,
The bond grew strong under the oak’s wing,
The sapling grew up and turned to be a creeper,
Entwining a few trees into it deeper…

As time flowed and the future rolled…
The greenery was good and creeper was happy,
And one fine day the oak was crappy,
Untwine from the teak was the order,
Teak is not oak and is one step shorter…
Creeper had grown so thick in lush greenery,
And teak was a part of its beautiful scenery,

As time flowed and the future rolled…
Teak tried to hold on to the creeper,
For the entwining was so much deeper.
Oak signaled the creeper about the warden,
Creeper wondered, wasn’t Oak her warden…
Oak loved warden, Oak loved the creeper,
Creeper loved the Oak, Creeper loved the teak,

In a attempt to entwine both oak and teak,
The creeper lost its creeping streak….
It fell down limply between the greenery,
Never to creep again, never to build a scenery,
Having lost its creeping streak, it became a bundle of limp fernery,

The green started fading away and the creeper started withering away…..
As was the norm the time flowed, but this time there was no future to roll…

I am What I am

I put in a lot of thought on the topic for my first post. After a lot of thinking :-?, I penned down a few thoughts. I hope it provokes you to think, even if it is just for a second. :-/

I am different from you. You are different from her, she is different from him.

Each of us is defined by our attitude. Decide on how you want to shape yourself and take pride in doing so. Decide for what you want and go for it. It doesn’t matter if it is out of your reach, it may initially seem so…

Follow your own particular dreams. We are handed a life by peers, parents and society, you can do that or follow your own dreams. Life is short, be a dreamer but be a practical person.
HUGH HEFNER

The restrained dawn strains behind the crowd
You get only one chance at life, Design it carefully. There is no Ctrl + Z in life.

You may say I'm a dreamer,

but I'm not the only one,

I hope some day you'll join us,

And the world will be as one.
